Okay, I think I have gone long enough without one of these. Just a few questions before I buy one:

What is the life of a stove if I were using it 3-4 nights per trip on 3-4 trips per year. How many seasons could I get out it?

At some point in the future could I just keep the end pieces and replace the shim stock that makes up the stove and it be like having a new stove?

I have stove body's still going strong that have had well over 100 burns. That would be 50+ days burning morning and evening or 100+ just evenings. The ti is very durable and yes, at least with my stoves, you can just replace the body if it ever gets damaged .

I badly abused my ti goat cylinder stove for about 40 days in the field (or around 80 burns) and they replaced the body for free. It had gotten badly flattened. That said - the old thing still works and I used the old body on a recent goat hunt. They gave me a longer replacement so I opted for the lighter weight on that trip. Patrick

One other question:

Obviously burn time depends on the quality of the wood and how large the diameter of the pieces but please give me some idea of what it would be.

My guess is with good dry fir about 3 inches in diameter and a hardwood piece included might burn for 40-45 minutes with it dampened down. Is that about right or I too optimistic?

You can get 40-45 min from hardwood but one thing to remember, all the lightweight stoves produce more heat with flame than coals. Soft woods 15 - 20 min.
