Folks,
Looking to get a feel for genuine interest in a Defiance Group Buy. Defiance does extend a volume discount but they structure pricing a little differently than what we might be accustomed to for a Group Buy situation.
Here is a general break-down:
Defiance offers a 10% discount, per unit, on any order of three to five actions. An order for six or more actions receives a 15% discount, per unit. 15% is the maximum discount Defiance allows, regardless of quantity. While this may not be as much of a price reduction when compared to past Group Buy's, I feel it simplifies the process and makes things much more cut-and-dry. The 10%/15% discounts are applied to how each action is configured - base model plus whatever options you select. That is another nice thing about Defiance when it comes to their Volume Discount policy: They will not restrict or limit the features of each action that is ordered, as long as the minimums they have established are met.
As noted above, this thread is strictly to get a feel for those with genuine interest in purchasing a Defiance action. If things progress, I will post additional information. Assuming this moves forward, there will be further details to work out.
Will be posting on other sites as well, in order to spread the word. Hopefully, we can secure six actions or more.

Which one is the stainless short action without the rail? I want to put my own alum rail on... Or maybe that's not a good idea? I am interested in a buy.

I believe you can have any of them without the rail. But I am not sure why you wouldn't want it if you were planning to use a rail. But thats just me.

Folks, Had a nice, in-depth discussion with Defiance today and came away with a lot of good information. The person I spoke with emphasized that Defiance is not necessarily interested in Group Buys but that they would extend their established discounts on orders that meet their minimum quantities. Because of this, there could be a couple of potential snags and I will try and detail those here, in order to get a better feel for those who remain interested. - Payment - Defiance would require payment in full for actions that are ordered in this Group Buy. Typically, they ask for 50% down if you ordered from them on an individual basis. The reasoning here is that they do not want to be stuck with an action, or actions (that could be highly customized), if someone gets cold feet or falls-off-the-face-of-the-earth while the actions are being built.
- Shipping - The shipping process could also cause some complications. Obviously, the actions would need to be sent to an FFL holder. Defiance is unwilling to ship actions individually and will only ship to a single address/recipient. (Based on the interest expressed here, this order could be over 10 units and destined for various parts of the country.) The actions would then need to be shipped to each participant's local FFL. In essence, the shipping costs would double in this scenario.
Wanted to post this information to see if enough people would still be interested in proceeding. Keep in mind that Defiance does offer 10% off for three to five actions, so there is a benefit for a smaller order. If there are enough committed members, I will post the accessories/options pricing in a few days.
