This year wife and I only had one three day window to attend. It was a good time with old friends none the less. Same folks we have elk camp with every fall. Camp is getting smaller. It's been tradition for over 35 years. Two or three weeks, some of the older folks stay the whole time and watch the trailers and boats, some of us run up and back for work. Lots of family on the weekends. Once I was a young kid and the old guys ran the show. They started passing away and the last went this year. Now my three long time outdoor buddies, brother and I are the old guys. We're not so many as the old ones of the past. I remember about twenty of them at different times. We used to have weekend camps of over 50 folks. We had 17 this year, getting slim. Seems to mirror our heritage. Had a good time, fishing was poor, just a time of year issue, as smallmouth fishing was great a few weeks ago and largemouth will be turning on soon.

Looks like a fun time, Kent. Just you and your bride or did the owner of your heart and soul and her Mom show up, too? Ed

Daughter's about to pop with the new grandson soon, and they had a baby shower saturday that required miss Mia to attend because of other kids attendance... or we were kidnapping her.
I'd a had a ton of pictures otherwise...
Though she did say she wanted to go camping with Mimi and Pappy instead.

Nice pics Kent.
A bad day of fishing beats a good day at work.

Thanks, Kent, for these photos and the rundown. Very nice spot. Good memories for you, and you are maintaining a fine tradition. We need more of that stuff.

Geographic variance. In this area, no all you can eat catfish restraint would last.

Our fish camp in Canada a few years ago. Nice and neat. No wimmin.
The Mayans had it right. If youre going to predict the future, its best to aim far beyond your life expectancy, lest you wind up red-faced in a bunker overstocked with Spam and ammo.
