Anyone ever paint a wood stock like the composite stocks...webbing etc.?

I've done a couple. To my mind the cheap birch stocks look worse than anything synthetic. Covering them with a good coat of paint is an improvement. Wouldn't do it to a stock with walnut or other nice wood.
Most people don't really want the truth.
They just want constant reassurance that what they believe is the truth.

Rich, I've got an old walnut in poor shape that was broken at the wrist and repaired. I've got it sanded down and am going to paint it. powdr

I painted a wood 10/22 stock for a friend's daughter. Turned out just fine.
Those who must raise their voice to get their point across are generally not intelligent enough to do so in any other way.
