You can rig a capstan with a hook on the bumper, the snatch block high in a tree, and the winch near the truck but off to the side hooked to something else. That will lift the front of the truck to get it on top of the crud rather than pulling it straight into more mud or snow.
Sometimes you can do the same with a come-a-long or hi lift but it's not easy to operate that way.

I have the simpson capstan. It will pull a moose through brush.....but a stuck crew cab is still stuck.

High lift Jacks best purpose in life is removing fence posts....

I have the cast iron version of this and yet to use it. Wish I had the aluminum version.

I've used a handyman to pull my self up a steep lake access in the winter... Not fun, but it works. If you have room for only one - the high lift is multi-purpose at least. There was a topic a while ago on how to use a high lift on these new plastic trucks and one guy had a nice hook set up to go directly onto yheels. I set one up with towing j-hooks.
