No idea where the big girls are at. Kinda been a tough spring. High water and colder than normal temps. Hopefully in a couple weeks they will really start to move after the spawn is over. Here's a few from the past couple weeks

The fact that anybody can catch a 'few' muskies in two weeks speaks volumes for your abilities!

Just curious what lure did you use to catch those muskies?

2nd and last fish were caught on bulldawgs, 1st and third fish were on deadhead gliders

Lord, those are "pale" fish. Good catches, but You gotta fish Northern Wisconsin and Minnesota.

Do you ever find that like bass, water clarity and the amount of sunlight they get affects the color?


Im thinking perhaps because yours are all caught in shady creeks they might be more pale, whereas northern fish are usually caught in open lakes...lots of sun.

I've got a bunch of pics of muskies. There are a lot of color variations. These fish are late winter early spring fish, water is pretty cold. Staying bottom tight I would say. But even our mid summer dark colored fish are pretty pale in comparison to the green lunges that Wisconsin has or the spotted lake st claire fish. We fish cave run a lot too. Same thing. We have the clear strain of muskellunge here. We catch them ranging in color from what you see here to a dark gray to a golden, or pinkish look or sheen to them. Really just differs fish to fish. I don't know what I'm trying to say here other than our fish here in ky, oh and wv are generally "more pale" than their northern brothers
