I was way too young to go over there
to “eat their lunches,” so I had to let
older kin and friends tend to 'em.
Now, all these years later, I'm wearing
the super-nice winter tunic that was made
for some Nazi panzer guy.
It's very well made, of gray wool whipcord that
looks like it'll wear like iron. And it's fully lined,
with breast pockets inside, clear down to the cuffs.
The shoulder and lapel devices came off easily,
even the elaborately embroidered one-inch black
bands on the cuffs that identified the outfit as
Panzerlehrbrigade 9 in fancy silver thread.
And I got three new ones (package deal)
