I recently bought this rifle to shoot over the summer, but I found another one that I want even more!!! I am selling this new Montana X2 and maybe a couple of others to fund a new, bigger project! It is in 30-06 with a 24" barrel. Absolutely new with papers in the hard case it came in. I requested this X2 with matte black metal when I ordered it from the dealer. I was originally going to duracoat this rifle in a heavier coat of matte black. I believe it weighs 7lbs 2oz. Thank you for your interest!

X2s can be special ordered in matte black. I know the MRC website shows them in stainless. Mine is stamped X2 and has the new x2 stock. To me, black metal just looks better with their new stock. Thank you for your assist.

It was a special order matte black. Confused, is it stainless. If they put a coating over the stainless, what do they use? Cerakote, durakote or some other coating????
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

It is chrome molly I do believe. It comes from MRC with a deep matte black finish. I'm not sure how they get it that way. It doesn't look like duracoat, and I'm positive its not cerakote. I've had most of my guns duracoated and love the rich black color and texture of either their black oxide or H&K mixed 50/50 with matte. Thank you.

Stock looks about like the black MRC X2 stock I handled over the weekend. Can't speak to the metal finish...
