Betty Sue Begley, Wheelwright (KY) elementary and junior high schools, 1941–1944 — first of uncounted many, irrespective of age and position. Usually, one at a time, with notable exceptions. E g, teacher Natalie Butler at Delta (PA) High School (and in town, Mrs Buker) left all the other local beauties trailing far back out of sight. Like my dad, I never went through that growing-up prelust phase where little boys don't like little girls. I'm a push-over for feminine pulchritude and winsome personality. I've survived malaria, whooping cough, chicken pox, and other afflictions, but this one persists unabated to this day. Loving is lots more fulfilling than being loved.

I remember her name was Joy and she had long blond hair. I would have been about seven then. She moved the next year and I never knew what happened to her.

Yup, Monica. I was dating 3 other girls when I met her. Tried juggling all of em. There was one that was a touch better looking than her and more popular. I HAD to have her, and eventually got her but lost the others including Monica in the process. Looking back dumbest schit I ever did. Had a lot of fun tho. To this day tho I still miss Monica. For the best tho. She has a better life than I could have ever given her.

Jayne S...From what you guys call elementary school all the way til I left High School..Was til many years later I realised what a stuck up and cold heart bitch she was..
Both her best friend Sara and her younger sister had a crush on me, but I was too dumb to see that they were both far nicer people than Jayne would ever be...

First adult love was Gaynell Outlaw. Yes, that was her name. Had a knockout of a sister name Lula Mae but that is another story. She was a senior in HS and I had just graduated the year before. Joining the AF broke it up but I still wonder what happened to her!

Yeah... I "remember"...she was absolutely beautiful... looked like, but a bit more pretty than Kim Novac. I still think of her some, even after 58 years, but glad I didn't marry her 'cause she is now on her 3rd. hubby and she's "75"... and the other two husbands are still alive so the "problem" is with HER, not "them". I think THAT tells-ya-somethin'... eh? Strength & Honor... Ron T.

I dated 2 at the same time for a while. They went to different schools so I was safe...or so I thought. Turned out that they were in the same 4-H club. Oops. On to greener pastures.

Can you "fall in love" in the first grade? Maybe it was just an infatuation that lasted through grade school, but it sure felt like love to me. She was a twin and although they were both cute, one of them captured my heart. I've never forgotten her.

At the offices of the surgeon who'd fixed my paralyzed vocal cord, one of the ladies asked me (in the presence of two others) whether I'd ever had any heart problems.
"Oh, yes. I have a very serious heart problem."
"What is the problem?"
"I fall in love too easily. I've already fallen in love three times this morning."
The word spread through the office suite, and I later left along an aisle that was lined with a gorgeous bunch of fondly smiling beauties.

plenty along the way....
but there has always been only ONE really... met her my second senior year in college ( I was 5 year undergrad taking dual majors)...long blonde haired freshman, big blue eyes...
knew it the first time I laid eyes on her, she'd be the love of my life...40 years later that hasn't changed...

the girl I pined for throughout elementary and high school told me she'd break off her engagement (and upcoming marriage) if I was interested in her when we were both in our early 20's. I told her no, not because I didn't want to but because I was friends with the man she was engaged to - and ended up being best man in her wedding.
I'm happily married but I often think what if.

Yup, Wanda Hendrix, in the fifth grade. We were both Army Brats and her Dad got transferred. Broke my heart.

I'm pretty certain when we sing our anthem and mention the land of the free, the original intent didn't mean cell phones, food stamps and birth control.

Barbara Kay, 1st day of our sophomore year in high school. looked up and saw her blue blue eyes and twiggy cut blonde hair. my heart went flippy flop and that was it. every morning after 48 years I wake up and look at those blue blue eyes and my heart goes flippy flop. guess that qualifies as love?

Yeah, I remember very well, the object of my desire for a couple of years, never bore fruit, ran into her 30 years later and praised my lucky stars that wishes sometimes do NOT come true!!
