I recently purchased above rifle, on sale at a great price. Was well satisfied with the position it filled in my battery, until I shot it. With 110 rounds, mild to wild, Wby factory ammo, made no difference - 5 to 6 inch groups, for 3 shots.
Have looked at bedding, bolt, nothing obvious. I have 50 yr of handloading experience, so pretty sure that isn't the issue. Have switched rifles in the rest to be sure that wasn't it.
Had two different sets of mounts and scopes, but again, no help in sight.
Does any body have some suggestions as to how to fix?https://www.24hourcampfire.com/ubbthreads/images/icons/default/tongue.gif

Yep, I think they are supposed to have a MOA guarantee with Weatherby factory ammo so I wouldn't waste any more time on it. I only owned one of the S2's, a 257Wby, and it was easily sub-MOA with the cheapest Wby factory ammo.

My brother has the NWTF(yeah I give him grief on it) Deluxe in 300 wby..Using Weatherby factory ammo and a Swaro 4-12x50 it shoots tiny little groups.

Send it back to Weatherby , they will repair or replace

Check the muzzle very carefully.
Inspect with a magnifying glass and look for a burr on the crown or edge of rifling. If you can't see anything, carefully run a patch through the barrel and see if you can "feel" or "detect" a snag on the patch.

I have seen this before an such wild groups are usually associated with something more commonly overlooked.

If you find a burr, gently, meaning very gently, turn a case de-burring tool in the crown to free it.
