Nice post - and you are generous to offer. I have enjoyed my .222R (Rem 700 with heavy barrel) for many, many years. A sure keeper.
A while back I bought an odd ball - Win Mod 54 in .222 Kilbourne (his early mod of the .222R) and am getting ready to work up some brass and loads for that. Special order custom dies will be $$$.
So, if you have dies I might modify and some brass to give, they might come in handy on that project. I would be pleased to pay shipping on such things.
Then again, if you come across a young shooter who needs that stuff - or a guy here who has none and needs them - I defer and please give to them.
Thanks.

Here is my Sako in 222. The more I mess with it the more I like it. 50gr vmax or 55gr cast bullets with blue dot, it just works.

I have a .222 chambered mod 600 for my calling rifle. Sure is handy and shoots most stuff pretty good. Needs a better scope though.

I have a 1956 vintage Sako L46 Sporter .222: And a 1958 vintage Sako L46 heavy barrel Varmint .222: Fun to shoot and I plan to start loading for them after turkey season if anybody has good load info. Very pretty and classy looking rifles!

I was looking for a .223 when I came across a Tikka Heavy Barrel in .222. When I checked my equipment I found a full set of .222 reloading dies so purchased it instead. As Shrapnel said 40 Vmax bullets work really well. Takes me back to my first centerfire varmint cartridge.

Sako L461. Cheap 700 SPS 223 set back and rechambered to 222. The Remington out shoots the Sako,,, and not by just a little bit. Go figure.

Cheap 700 SPS 223 set back and rechambered to 222. I've always admired what you did with that gun. Looks great and obviously shoots well for you. Nice looking stick. Here is my Howa built S&W 1500 Varmint in .222 Has laid waste to quite a few PDs over the years. I also have a Remington 700 sporter with the engraved action and a RB trigger that is almost too pretty to shoot.

Under appreciated for the great little round that it is.

Have two but not photos right now.. 1st. is a model 700 with a custom stock, and douglas #5 barrel.. It is about 7000 rds old..
2nd, is a custom stocked Sako.. My old pal had this stocked by a good friend of mine.. But is has a God awful amount of inlays.. I am ashamed to show it in public... One of my main turkey rifles..
