I've been pretty quiet here lately and haven't posted much. I've killed a few TN birds and been out with some buddies but haven't put anything on here. This past week, 2 buddies and I went out to LaCygne, KS and competed in the World Turkey Hunting Championships (WTHC). It was a great event, somewhat corny and cheesy but lots of fun anyway. We managed to put together a pretty good run and actually won the event. We were team Tag It Worldwide which is one my buddy's outfitting service. Good times were had by all. We managed to kill some birds with the bow which gets you bonus points and that was the difference for us. We got lots of goodies for winning and hopefully will try and defend our title next year! I'm on the right in the field pics and left in the check pic. Lee

Rock on brother, how does the land allotment work out? Lottery draw or you have to have your own?

Strick9, they have enough property lined up for all the teams to get about 350-450 acres. You have a random draw and get assigned to your property. You draw at 10am on Tuesday and have until 4pm that day to scout the property and decide if you want to keep it or you can redraw. If you turn it back in, you get another random draw packet but you can't really scout that property all that well and are going in a little more blind.
You can hunt your private property assigned to you or you can hunt public land but you cannot hunt any other private ground. If you would like to hunt public, you have to report the ground you are going to and only one team can go to each piece of public ground to avoid messing each other up on purpose.
Thanks guys! It was a lot of fun.
