It obviously must be Wal-Mart's fault.

Tried watching with my daughter for a while. She loves what is now called country music. But, when a guy comes on in red leather-looking skinny jeans and starts singing, we said, no thank you. Fast-forward through that crap. What a joke.

Alan Jackson and George Strait were definitely the best performances. Both were class acts.

Yep. If Alan Jackson and George Strait were there, thats probably the only country music performed all night.

Saw him in concert 2 summers ago. One of the best performances I've seen in a long time. Just sitting up there he had more stage presence than any of the current D-Bag bro-country artists ever will

It's known as nashville pop. and ya, it seems to be getting pretty pink around the edges more and more. A trend that hasn't gone completely un noticed by many industry insiders.
Heres the lyrics to a song Larry Cordle and Larry Shell wrote about that very thing.

MURDER ON MUSIC ROW
(Larry Cordle/Larry Shell)

NOBODY SAW HIM RUNNIN' FROM SIXTEENTH AVENUE
THEY NEVER FOUND A FINGERPRINT OR THE WEAPON THAT WAS USED
BUT SOMEONE KILLED COUNTRY MUSIC. CUT OUT ITS HEART AND SOUL
THEY GOT AWAY WITH MURDER DOWN ON MUSIC ROW

THE ALMIGHTY DOLLAR AND THE LUST FOR WORLD-WIDE FAME
SLOWLY KILLED TRADITION AND FOR THAT SOMEONE SHOULD HANG
THEY ALL SAY NOT GUILTY BUT THE EVIDENCE WILL SHOW
THAT MURDER WAS COMMITTED DOWN ON MUSIC ROW

FOR THE STEEL GUITARS NO LONGER CRY
AND FIDDLES BARELY PLAY
BUT DRUMS AND ROCK & ROLL GUITARS
ARE MIXED UP IN YOUR FACE
OL' HANK WOULDN'T HAVE A CHANCE
ON TODAY'S RADIO
SINCE THEY COMMITTED MURDER DOWN ON MUSIC ROW

THEY THOUGHT NO ONE WOULD MISS IT ONCE IT WAS DEAD AND GONE
THEY SAID NO ONE WOULD BUY THEM OLD DRINKIN' AND CHEATIN' SONGS
WELL THERE AIN'T NO JUSTICE IN IT AND THE HARD FACTS ARE COLD
MURDER'S BEEN COMMITTED DOWN ON MUSIC ROW

FOR THE STEEL GUITARS NO LONGER CRY
AND YOU CAN'T HEAR FIDDLES PLAY
WITH DRUMS AND ROCK & ROLL GUITARS
MIXED RIGHT UP IN YOUR FACE
THE HAG WOULDN'T HAVE A CHANCE
ON TODAY'S RADIO
SINCE THEY'VE COMMITTED MURDER DOWN ON MUSIC ROW

THERE'S BEEN AN AWFUL MURDER DOWN ON MUSIC ROW

I was in Jerry's world last night. I guess I missed the change in country. Wife made me stay until the song was played.
Wasn't much fun for me, thinking I was there to hear traditional music.
Getting old, don't really care for the rock and roll country.
Happy to go that one time, but even if they get the show back in 5 years, think I'll pass.
