We’re up and running on our 2015 Colorado Bighorn sheep and Mountian goat raffle sales. Follow the link to purchase tickets. The drawing is April 18, 2015 at our annual banquet. We also offer raffles for a Colorado Pronghorn tag(great odds), optics and a couple of cool rifles as well. Something for everyone in the family. Again like last year, buy early and buy often! http://www.bighornsheep.org/raffle.htm

Like to put down $1,500 or so, questions: 1. is the raffle random draw number generated? If so, I'll enter it. 2. If not, are all the raffle tickets in the same format? If yes, good. If individuals can modify the shapes of the tickets, it's unfair for non-residents.
I ask because I have been burned before when local Chapters turn a bunch of raffle tickets around in a bin and only the ones that are dog-eared or crumpled get chosen. If I am putting in remotely, my raffle tickets usually just end up as straight, flat entries placed in the bin...

Purchasers are able to dog-ear their tickets if they purchase in person. That said, at least 4 of the last 11 sheep tags that I remember off the top of my head have been won by non-residents, and residents purchase far more tickets for the drawing. Non-residents have seemed to have better luck than residents.

I guess that I would add if we did do an offsite random number thing people would still cry foul.
We find the youngest able bodied kid that has nothing to do with the day to day of the RMBS at the banquet to reach in the bin and grab a ticket. And they do it right in front of 350 people, I’m not sure how much more random it could be.
I’d say if a person if going to be upset afterwards if they don’t win, then this is not the thing for them. Maybe just spend a $100 and have fun with it and be a sheep hunter for a night, at least in your dreams!

BTW when a NR wins they do not have to pay the state the $2000 or so for the tag, it's free.

America needs to understand that our troops are not 'disposable'. Each represents a family; Fathers, Mothers, Sons, Daughters, Cousins, Uncles, Aunts... Our Citizens are our most valuable treasure; we waste far too many.

Five months of hunting will give you lots of time to find something special. How long will the goat hair be in December? Great opportunity for a shaggy one.

I'm in for sheep and goat. I probably won't draw the sheep, but the goat is mine. I surely won't miss this fat old billy a third time.

Been trying to use AMEX and keep getting errors when I check out... Sorry about that, despite what the site says no AMEX or Discover. Thanks to all who've purchased tix. Come on April 18th!

And the winners are: Swarovski Optics #1 - Brian Tucker, Colorado
Swarovski Optics #2 - Lloyd Blackwood, North Carolina
Weaver .270WSM - Chris Weller, Colorado
CO Statewide Pronghorn - Brent Fassett, Colorado
CO Statewide Mountain Goat - Bill Wagner, Colorado
CO Statewide Bighorn Sheep - Joe Vander Poel, California
Thank you to everyone who threw their name in the hats. It was a very successful year. The Weaver 7mm winner will be drawn on June 27. Hopefully online ticket sales will be open again shortly.
It is interesting to note that in the top post there were questions about NRs winning the tags. Four of the 6 winners last night were from online ticket orders. And 2 are NRs! Including the big dog tag.
