Sorry if this has been asked before, but I can't find it on the search. Has Speer discontinued the Deep Curl line?
Thanks

Unfortunately! It was a great bullet. (As was their discontinued Deep Shock line). What a train wreck. Makes one wonder if they have a clue what they are doing. .

I hear they are bringing out the Deep Claw or was it the Deep Core.

Given their track record, their managers ought to be in Deep Sheit

The 180's shot outstanding in my 300WSM, I bought a few boxes of 90's for 243 and 6mm but tripped them all after Speer dropped them.

Those 90 grainers in a 243 were great on whitetails too.

Does anyone know if speer supplies the deep curl bullets to Federal, who then loads them and sells them as the fusion line of ammo?

I recall discussions that the DC was not the same bullet used in the Fusion line, similar but not the same.

Fusion has boat tail, Deep Curl is a flat base with a dimpled heel. Other than that, they are the same.

FYI, I got some 150gr pulled fusion bullets for my 270. Knowing that they're basically a deep curl I sent an email to speer to see if I could get any more reload info for the deep curl line. His response:
"Nate: The DeepCurl RIFLE bullets have been halted from sale. All of the available DeepCurl load data is on the Speer-Bullets.com home page, go to the bottom of the page, click on Learn More near the # 14 Reloading Manual, then page down to the data you desire. If you don't find what you desire it is doubtful that any additional data will be tested.
Shoot Straight! Coy Getman"
So being curious/can't hurt to ask, I replied, "Thanks for your prompt response. I'm sad to hear of its discontinued status. Can you provide any reason fur that?"
His reply, "Nate: capacity the largest one. Coy"
I thought my email exchange with them was interesting.

Interesting. The rep I got an email from said it was a marketing issue. Who knows.....

It's too bad that they seem to be turning to "hardly a consideration", but on the other hand I usually like what is offered by other companies more.

There is a place on my reloading bench for Speer hot cors and boat tails. Good cup and core bullets at a reasonable price. I think the premium bullet market is well represented.

For me, C&C bullets are usually a hornaday...they usually shoot as good or better than Speer and I can find them more often than the speers.
