Man goes through Montana's like they are underwear. If you'd keep one for a little while you could wear the shine off of the trigger.... My Kimber experience is more corporate than individual. I doubt I have more than 500 rounds through any one. I do have a 308 MT that's here to stay. Of all I've owned, the 308 makes the most sense for me.

Glad I am over my Kimber delusions. The trigger was the deal breaker for me. To heck with the trigger guard. Kimber's is the best factory trigger I've ever used. Granted, it's going through an ugly phase, but it still is a phenomenal trigger. Trigger guard bother's me not a whit.

I've stubbornly refused to buy any, and all Left-Hand Kimbers, and now with this Chrome trigger,
Deal breaker all the way.
I'm officially drawing my line in the sand, ain't no stepping back.

All of my hunting rifles are Model 70's, old style. KISS theory. I have owned my share of Kimbers, a Model 70 just feels better.
Personal preference.

Bummer about the chromed triggers, but I'm not above hitting it with Krylon.
How's Dober doing?

If Dober would come back on the 'Fire, they'd probably start making the triggers matte again.
Tell him that he is missed.

My bud Dober is well, and I'll pass on the kind thoughts.
Funny thing, Mark's generally far less bugged by aesthetic irregularities than me, but his reaction to the chromed Kimber trigger equaled or surpassed my more acute aesthetic preferences.
Dober is a good man, and someone I'm proud to call "friend."
Aside, the best fix for the Kimber trigger is to wrap it in blue tape...

So that means you have an 84L ready to sell....... Nope, haven't had an 84L for over a year. If I were to ever own another it'd be a 270. Best of the bunch IMO. Would cut the barrel to 22". Currently have a 308 MT and a 308 M70 EW.

Dober and I recently road-tripped to our mutually favorite gun store, Shedhorn Sports in Ennis, MT.
Anyway, studying the new MT's on the shelves was a bit surprising... the triggers are bright-chrome plated. WTF? Seriously fugly.
Until now, all MT triggers have just plain, matte-ish stainless.
Dober and I were both somewhat flabbergasted, and both agreed it's a borderline deal killer.
If you can find a pre-[bleep]-up-matte-finished-trigger-Kimber-Montana, jump on it.
Some bean counter was involved in that decision undoubtedly...
Portuguese Winchester's, no stainless Ruger Hawkeye's, what's next? Well, it could have been gold plated. Or would that have been better??
I try to stick with the basics, they do so well. Nothing fancy mind you, just plain jane will get it done with style. You want to see an animal drop right now? Shoot him in the ear hole. BSA MAGA

Like I said, "almost" a deal killer, ie, not a deal killer.
The trigger sticks out like a freaking sore testicle. Wait til' you see the damn thing!
You just have to wonder at the "thinking" that goes into that sort of decision... Next, they will have a MOA trigger too.. .. Hey, be sure to tell that insurance salesman mofo (you were with) I said hi...

It's too bad Winchester's MOA isn't the Kimber trigger. Will tell the Realtor you say "hi"...

I checked the triggers out at the LGS yesterday. All the LA's in stock had the matt trigger. The SA's had the shiny trigger.....maybe just a coincidence, but that shiny trigger will scare all the deer away. (Grin)

Just put some blue tape on it and STFU.

I just bought a Kimber Mountain Ascent 84L-.280AI and the trigger is matte STS.
With Talley STS QDS, Swaro Z3-3x9, this is as light as my much more costly full custom Mod. Seven STS 7-08 and very nicely balanced.
It really pairs with my second Dakota 76-.338WM, a rifle without irons and I expect to use this pair for most of my hunting this year.
.338WM and .280AI, very capable pair for BC hunting and that is all I care to do.
