Hill Country .280 ackley improved According to Hill Country it would be a harvester plus rifle. (Pm for serial #) Made in 2003 Black teflon coated Stainless action and barrel. Rem 700 la - excellent Lilja #2 1:9 22"- excellent bore and one or two small nicks in the teflon coating that has made it 13 years... Mcmillan ultralight hunter/ green, very light -excellent no dings Trigger - idk which trigger is in it but it's lighter than my hs custom rifle If I had to rate it I would say 97+% Also has a larue tactical 20moa base.
Shoots factory blue box federal 150gr 280 rem .75" @100 yards Have done little load development and have worked 2 loads: 140gr ttsx @ .75" 162gr amax @ .75" If I messed with the seating depth I'm sure I could bring to .5 moa. I'm taking a loss but I want to go a different route... $1750 shipped with about 30 fireformed cases 3x fired and maybe some fresh norma 280 rem brass.
Please pm me with your number I can send photos. Don't hesitate to ask questions, I will be more than happy to provide a reference from this sight or lrh same username.
Thanks, Greg

That was very nice of you 257heaven, thank you!
As you can see in the photos there is one nick on the barrel and normal wear on the muzzle. The bottom metal has two nicks on on the trigger gaurd and on the floor plate... These are nicks not gauges...

Nice rifle - is the stock painted, or is this a different McM?

I don't believe it's painted. The reason I say that is because the rifle is 13 years old. If it was painted I would think that by now I would have flaked or chiped somewhere on the stock. The build sheet says 50% olive 30% grey 20% black and I think that's the resin mixture? I may be wrong? I'm sure someone here knows about these older mcm stocks.
I believe this is the older Kevlar model.

Not sure about invoice versus stock on the rifle pictured, but the stock pictured appears to be a painted Hunter's Edge pattern. None of the Edge stocks have gelcoat or marble finishes. They are all painted.
Stock must have Edge technology if the rifle weight is sub 6 lbs.

I'm not the most knowledgable person on mcmillan stocks but I don't believe a hunters edge was available in 2003. From the pictures and other stuff I've seen on google this should be a ultra light hunter model or a ks model(Kevlar).

Spoke with a mcmillan rep 10 minutes ago, She said hcr orders hundreds of stocks at a time an that this was more than likely just a mistake on the build sheet. The rifle was built for a foundation to be raffled off. I'm not going to disclose the name of the foundation because I don't want people bugging them. The stock is painted and would be the same a a mcm hunters edge classic 22-24 oz.
