How about yours?

Mine is like this Case 2 Blade Trapper #80500; obtained in Texas on the 24 HCF Hog Hunt.

http://images.nitrosell.com/product_images/7/1748/large-ca80500.jpg

Reasoning behind this :

Stock blade for chores - boxes, letters, paper, fruit, ...

Main blade - stays sharp.

Knife in its kind is inconspicious enough and legal in just about any jurisdiction.

pretty decent lil blade to cut a thread, clean a fingernail, open a letter etc.

Here's mine: a Moore Maker from Matador, TX. I have a couple of others, but this is the one that is in my pocket every day.

I don't know that it's my favorite, but I realized a year or so ago, after I forgot my knife one day, that I needed a backup in both family cars and my work truck to prevent a future recurrence. I ended up with a Kershaw 1/2 Ton and 3/4 Ton.

Shortly after getting them, I decided to use the cute, stubby, Half Ton in place of my Kershaw Whirlwind.. just for a few days or so to try it out. Turns out I'm still carrying it a year or so later, so for now at least, it's my current EDC.

Yeah, it's not an exotic steel, and it's a little thick and short in blade, but it's solid, pretty sharp, and at $6.99, easily replaced if lost.

Knife on the left in the photo. (I always remove the pocket clip as I've had some pocket-clipped stuff ripped out of my pocket by brush and stuff.)

SAK Farmer, used to be a Case sodbuster jr. but the farmer is exactly the same size and you wouldn't believe how ofter I use the screwdrivers, saw, and awl in addition to the reguar blade.

I'm generally not a huge fan of stainless but I carry it every day even when I wade fish in a pair of shorts, it stays wet a lot. Had it for 3 years and no corrosion at all. Very well made knife.

I carry a ESEE Izula II on days I work in addition to my Farmer cause I wear a tool pouch and the front pocket is hard to get into. The Izula II has a clip that snaps onto your belt or pocket. Sharp as heck too. Life time unconditional warrenty on the esee even if its from abuse by you! Works good for a skinner and is a decent bird/trout knife.

This is the one I've settled with for life.

I can't abide cheap plastic knives.

I cycle through these three. The Kershaw Leek was intended to be "the one" but doesn't hold an edge as well as the middle Browning. The Leek is US made and S30V which has me scratching my head compared to the imported Browning with a basic stainless blade (an RMEF promo and has been a great knife).

I have a Kershaw with a CPM S30V blade that wouldn't hold an edge very well either. I re heat treated the blade to get a RC of 59 and it works great. It's easy to use good steel, but the steel has to be heat treated correctly for the blade's intended use. If CPM S30V is correctly heat treated it will make a tough blade that holds an edge very well.

I carry a Kershaw Chill now and love it.

Elishowitz Ghost.

With carbon fiber scales and great steel, it is light enough for this aging body. It looks good even with wear. I use it every day.
