I've got a couple of questions on the new Winchester XPR that campfire members might be able to help out on.

What is the inside length of the single-stack magazine?

Is there a way to lengthen it safely and easily?
For example, could someone cut out a strip about .2" wide in front edge, in front of the noses of the cartridges, and then epoxy or cement a reinforcement on the outside of the magazine to help stabilize the box integrity? The front of the base and first half-inch of the front edge of the magazine would remain intact, too.

The rifle looks like a very inexpensive "hunter", but I would like 3.49" of magazine length for a 338 WM with long bullets.
