My son and I took the kayaks to a local pond this evening. The pond is loaded with crappie, too many, most are small but still fun to catch. We caught 50+ crappie and my son caught a few bass, one nice one, it was 5# according to his scale.
Pretty fun evening!

Nice bass, looks like an easy 5lbs to me. I'd think he pulled the kayak a little.

Thanks 43, yes we've caught a few large bass there and you reel the kayak to the bass more than the bass to you!

I love pond fishing, especially with a flyrod for gills. I have a pond with crappie and they're too many in it too. They overpopulate easily in a pond.

Looks like a good time was had. Anytime you can get a teen to spend time with you you better count yourself lucky. Most of the time they're chasing girls or want to hang with their friends.

Good boy that makes time for dear ol dad!

Thanks guys, he says he doesn't have time for girls right now, he says they would cut into his hunting, fishing, and trapping too much but I know it's a matter of time before the right one comes along and I lose my outdoor buddy for a while so for now, I take every opportunity to spend time together.
He's been on fire with the bucket mouths the last couple days. He caught a 6 pounder yesterday and a 6 1/2 pounder this afternoon.

Here's the one today.....

Thanks wfr, 2 of them qualify for state citation awards. He fishes hard for them and the kayaks give us an advantage on the ponds. We keep the pond locations a secret!
