Beautiful warthog and Nyala Ed!
You probably shouldn't have shot the dog though.....

I was afraid the dog might touch someone's nerve.

Jorge, all kidding aside, if thats one of the first US made guns after Japan, and it works well...you won the lottery. Our luck in the gun biz was always with the Japanese guns. I like the lack of lustre on your stock,or is it just the camera angle? Completely agree with the jap guns. Even over the Germans. Yep, one of the very first ones by SACO (?). Camera angle, it's a typical whorehouse glossy Weatherby finish

I wasn't gong to say anything. Bet it made a mighty small rug.
Pretty nice rifle, by the way.

I was thinking closer to home, but since you brought it up - welcome to the club!

I'll go with "Chester the Molester". It's a 1970's PF M70 - XTR, I believe. Started life as a 300 Winny, but rebarreled to .375-338 as shown here: No, I didn't shoot the fish with it. We were crusing the beaches in May looking for bears and found this fish flopping around on a tide flat and went to check it out.

There is a great article about Wally Johnson's .375 H&H M70 in the current issue of Sports Afield, complete with pictures. That thing has been well-used. No safe queen there! Anyone want to post a pic of your own favorite well-used rifle? My well used 375 on FN action

Here's a couple of mine, pre 64 model 70's of course! First a recent addition, a 300 H&H from the the original owner's son, bought new in 1952 and had used all over N.A. and Africa. Now I'll continue on it's hunting tradition. then a mid 50's .270 featherweight, my faithful companion of many years and still going strong.

I have a well-used .280 Ackley that has killed more than a few critters. Prairie goats, mulies, whitetails, bears and mooses ... we do not discriminate. When Karen is better, perhaps I'll post a photo of that wonderfully reliable rifle. Blessings, Steve

If he admits to anything other than 175s he has to turn in his "cool" card!!
