Very cool. With a Mom from Brady TX and some time there hunting I've really enjoyed my time in the Hill Country. Too bad you guys live on the surface of the sun from May to Sept! cry

very fine pics & story. smile

If you haven't been yet, Perdenales Falls State Park near Johnson City has some real interesting rocks & hills along the river. Interesting and fun hike.

We haven't done that one, but we'll put it on the list. Every time we take a trip we just come home with more places we want to go.

We didn't make it back before dark so we need to head back out that way again anyway...We planned on stopping near Llano at Packsaddle Mountain. My great-great-uncle fought the last recorded Indian battle in Texas there. You can't get to it, but it's neat to see the name on the historical marker.

Well done! cool

Um... I do believe I've already done all them places on a motorcycle, so much so I'm pretty sure I could do it blindfolded, and Pedernales Falls is one of the locations I haul kids to annually.

Next step, especially if you've got a street-legal dirt bike, is to start hitting all the dirt roads that run between the paved ones.

Only sad part to that is when you do get off pavement, the degree to which that whole area of the Hill Country is already subdivided into acreage homesites becomes apparent frown

Very cool, one of the places I would love to live, the Texas Hill Country.

That was great idea and cool trip for your family, thanks for sharing it.

I've got a picture of my granddad riding a bull in Texas around 1940. My wife nixed the idea of me getting a duplicate of me done frown

Great road trip! Sure beats, IMO, driving to a fricken amusement park. Well done.
