That's a big 10-4!

I planned on hunting western Oregon for Roos since I didn't draw a Rock Mtn tag for my side of the state. The roadless wilderness that I'd planned on happens to be only 60% "contained" right now, and should be burned all to hell by the time the fire's out. May be good hunting in a few years, but by then the 'shroom hunters and deer hunters will have discovered it too.

Yep me too. Blue mountains in SE washington. The FS evacuated the area that we get our fresh water from. There was a fire on the other side of the mountain last year. Dont know how that one affected our hunting because we got drawn for a different unit last year. Dont look like this one will be out until the snow flies.

If enough guys get burned out of their areas, maybe we could have a Campfire Poker Tourney.

A guy I consider knowledgable mentioned yesterday that the Washington fires have pushed deer and elk into a very small space, and that if the Fish & Game guys don't step in they'll all get whacked at once.

Maybe in a few areas but it's not like all of WA is on fire.

One hunt would have been called due to fire danger closures but it got called on lack of money first. This next hunt, and I just called today, isn't impacted by fire or fire danger as of yet and I'm leaving Sunday. Once I get into the woods they'll play hell finding me to tell me to leave.

If my truck and trailer burn up at the trail head I have good insurance and they're both old anyway.

Oregon is finally getting some good showers. I hope they last for a week.

Silvers for me when I get back from deer hunting.
I live just off Eagle Creek, & the fishin' is usually HOT right after deer season, provided the water level is up.

Silvers are all catch and release in this region (at least where the fish actually bite).

I get some CoHo in the Umpqua, but not local.

Good Fishing,
