I fell into a Vixen 222 sporter today. Basically mint, it came with the factory receiver sight but no rings. I need to source some low rings for it.
The serial number is 1076XX. And guesses on date of manufacture?
Anybody who seriously concerns themselves with the adequacy of a Big 7mm for anything we hunt here short of brown bear, is a dufus. They are mostly making shidt up. Crunch! Nite-nite!

Thanks Kirk.
I see a 6X36 with Dober dots in its future.

The action may have been made 1971; if the barrel's underside says Firearms Int'l, Washington, DC then that's probably close to the assembly date.
Not uncommon to see Stoeger/Garcia barrels on pre 72 actions.
