Have not hunted in Colorado for a few years. Last time we hunted units 16 and 161. seen several elk, but did not fill my tag. At this time I have 10 preference points going into this years drawing. We are thinking about Units 4, 5, 441, have hunted these units several times over the past 20 plus years. We have bee fairly successful, but it has been several years since we last hunted these units. With 10 PP, a NR, looks like we should draw, and Either elk tag. Or with 10 points, should we be looking elsewhere. Really, not at the age where I want to wait another 10 years, to get one of the premier units. Any thoughts?? (Muzzleloader) Thanks Russ

That will guarantee you a permit and a small bull. It is your hunt, but there are far better areas if you want a good trophy.
You did not "seen" anything, you "saw" it. A "creek" has water in it, a "crick" is what you get in your neck. Liberals with guns are nothing but hypocrites.

I own land in area 4 and I have hunted it for many years with only one large bull and many smaller ones taken. In area 4 Baker's Peak state trust land and Willow creek state trust land is where most bulls are taken. Easy hunting on either piece but no motor vehicles allow so you have to pack it out.

Those units are known for raghorn bulls but occasionally you can get a good one. Been hunting Unit 4 most years since 1982. If I had 10 points I would look elsewhere.

No, I'm not a Ruger bigot - just an unabashed fan of their revolvers, M77's and #1's.
A good .30-06 is a 99% solution.

You might consider Unit 49(?) just north of Buena Vista. It is a good unit that you will draw with 10. I drew it twice with four, but those days are gone forever.
