Just had 3 discs replaced and a 3 level fusion c4-c7 done on my neck. Can anyone with any experience with this tell me what my shooting future might look like?
Will it be all good, or limited to light recoil rifles?
Any experience would be helpful.

Any advice from the doc or PT?

I've had the same cervical fusion as you. I began shooting 22LR within a month and then to a 223, 243, then 308 Win. 8 years later, I'm pretty much normal, having gone to Africa and shot a 375. I have no problems with normal stuff, I.e., 25-06, 308, 270, 30-06, 7mm. I don't see any need for 300 mags and above in my hunting, but would use them cautiously if I needed the horsepower.

Be slow and cautious as you work up, but you should have a pretty much normal shooting and hunting future.

I would talk with your doc, I had a lower back fusion, (s1, l5, l4) last year and wasn't allowed to shoot for 3 months, after that doc said have at it. How said he didn't want any shaking going on while the bone was growing.

Good luck and be patient with your healing.

I've had 3 neck fusions, between the shoulder blades, and extensive lower back with 2 titanium rods. I can't bend my neck very far or bend over to any degree. I normally only shoot my light rifles, 9.3x62 and smaller, a fair amount. My larger rifles, 416 Rigby, 458 Lott, and 450 Ackley Magnum are not shot very much as we have eliminated the monster squirrels in our part of east Texas. I'm having no pain, just hard to get around.

Thanks guys. PT won't start for 6 more weeks. Dr. cautioned that heavy kickers might be a problem, but too soon to tell for sure.
