Does anyone have any good websites for maps? I need to find maps for a Colorado hunt I'm going to be on in November. I have hunted the area before but I want a little more info on it. Thanks Steve <img src="/ubbthreads/images/graemlins/grin.gif" alt="" />

try google maps (satelite is cool)......and check out USGS site for topo stuff...

Try searching for "DRG download colorado" DRG stands for digital raster graphic which are usually georeferenced renditions of topographic maps. There are typically 2 or 3 sites for each state where one can download them for free. They are usually *.tif files that can be opened by about any image type software (Paint, Adobe photo, or microsoft picture editor) If you would like to use georeferenced versions (where ever your mouse goes the coordinates will be displayed) download and install some free software called Global mapper and use it to open the files. No reason to ever pay for maps or low end GIS software in todays world. Haven't worked with Colorado, but can find maps for all of Idaho, Oregon, Washington, Wyoming, and Alaska. You can create and preview maps all the way to 1:10000. I've ordered two from them already and can't complain as I got to spec the map out exactly as I wanted.
