Now that my title has your attention, I know not to load these back to back in a lever action. This is for a TC G2 rifle in 30-30 Winchester.

So I have a G2 rifle and I am just getting into reloading. Has anyone loaded this for a rifle? Just curious as to some of your loads. Dale

257, No I don't. What I do have is a box of the 150 gr. X hollow points specifically for the 30-30 and have never used them, Anybody? I would think that 130 gr. Speer book loads will give you something to start with, the top end is about 2425 fps in a 94-Muddy

I loaded the 150 grain TSX in a Marlin 336 and got great accuracy at 2400 FPS using 25.5 grains LeverEvolution.

For the 130s I think I'd at least try to stay with LeverEvolution.

They'll probably be great. I have friends that run them around 3k in '06 and 308. I run the 30-30/150s....it buckles knees, 4 at a time. If the 130 pointed version opens as fast in a 30-30, it'll hit out of proportion.

You might wven try the 110 TTSX in the 30/30

Barnes has data on their website for your query. They use a coal of 2.72", fed GMM210, Win brass, with accurate load listed as H4198 25.5-27gr, for 2328, and then Benchmark 30.5-33gr for 2453.

I've not tried Benchmark, or Barnes bullets, but in a G2 Contender with 14" BBl, H4198 has been a go-to powder. Feel free to use any ol' 30-30 data. I got the throat recut deeper, about .2", as the T/C factory chamber/throat spec was garbage. The chamber neck is .1" too long, and the throat was non-existent. It shoots much better now. I only shoot cast bullets and soft, pointy spitzers. You'll have a bit of a MV advantage though. Barrel length makes even more difference with low-pressure cartridges.

I've run both the 130 TSX and TTSX. 35.o gr of I-4895 gave me 2,385 fps w/TTSX in a 20" s/s custom shot barrel (G1). I've bumped it up to 35.5, but have not chrono'ed it. Sub-MOA. RL-7 would be another good one.
