Will Paint Remover take off the finish on 700 Remington wood stocks?

I prefer classic.

I used to run with the hare. Now I'm envious of the tortoise and I do my own stunts but rarely intentionally

Yes, but usually more than one coat. I use "paint/epoxy" type remover. It helps to lightly scuff the original finish with 100 grit before applying the stripper. It breaks the surface tension, so to speak, and helps the stripper get into the finish.

I have had very good luck with spray on stripper. easy to apply, wipe off, maybe a couple times. The less sanding you can do the better wood to metal and butt plate fit. I generally tape the butt plate edge and sand in place to keep edges sharp.

Use Citri-Strip and wrap in aluminum foil. It will eat the white line spacer material.

Mark Begich, Joaquin Jackson, and Heller resistance... Three huge reasons to worry about the NRA.
