Tomorow I leave for Zimbabwe. I'll be hunting in Chewore with Richard Tabor of Roger Whittall Safaris for 16 days and then hunting with Buzz Charlton for ten days in Chete and then hunting again with Rich for another five days or so at Humani in the Save Conservancy. The screwy shedule is the result of me putting off a decision I needed to make months ago.
I have had a business issue come up that requires me to take an international cell and a satalite phone, which is too bad. At least I didn't have to pull the plug on my trip which is how it was looking just Thursday. With a bit of good fortune I will make the whole trip, a little less luck and the extra five days with Richard will be lost, a lot less luck and I could loose the ten days with Buzz. I'm doing the whole 16 days with Richard come hell or high water.
The first 16 days with Richard will target a bull elephant, two tuskless, a buff and a leopard.
The ten days with Buzz will target three tuskless elephants.
The second go round with Richard, if I can make it, will target two tuskless and an nyala, maybe a bushbuck and continueing the leopard effort if it need continueing.
I'm not even packed yet; finished, best I could, with business at midnight and I'm beat. I had to suspend my "elephant tracking fitness program" two weeks ago to make time to get the business issue settled and I've managed to put on seven or eight pounds.
I do have my ammo weighed out and the 5 kilo limit is sufficient for this trip, thankfully.
Need to stop procrastinating and get on with the packing.

Thanks all.
I will report when I return, hopefully in a little more than five weeks, and not earlier.
Jorge, I will definitely have a cold beer and think of you all, in the evenings before hitting the hay.
