Wow, I need to get out more, I've only been to 10. Although there used to be a marker the Boy Scouts put up a few miles from the house that if you walked around it, you walked through 3 states, kinda neat.
I have 48 so far. I'm missing Alaska and Hawaii and have no desire to visit the latter.
I spent a good chunk of my "formative years" in bars in/around Sherbrooke and my count in Canada is, IIRC, five provinces. Throw in El Sal, and that covers it for my foreign travel.
In the USA, been to all 50...heck my 88 4 Runner has been in all 49 on the Continent... only one it hasn't been to is Hawaii..
In Canada, I have been to each Canadian Province. plus the Yukon and the NW Territories...
haven't been to Nunavut Territory... back to my 4 Runner, It has been to all Canadian provinces, from Ontario west, to include the Yukon and the NW Territories again..
Looks like it has been a traveler, doesn't she? bought new with 2 miles on it.. right now she is just shy of 510,000 miles on her... 2200 RE, 5 speed manual..
27 states including Alaska and Hawaii. 15 foreign countries. I don't just count the ones I have stepped foot in. I count only the ones I have taken a crap.
dont worry about maine you aint missing a darn thing except for a couple of bucks off the price of a lobster dinner maybe and good deer, bear and moose hunting other than that maine sucks..............................
49. 51 if you count territories, since I went TDY to PR and DC. Not a tough gig. Hawaii is on the list for the future so I get the whole set of states, still need Guam and USVI for the territories.
Let's see, New York, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, Vermont, New Hampshire, Connecticut, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina, Massachusetts, Georgia, Florida, Colorado, Illinois, Idaho, Washington, Oregon, California. That makes twenty. Looks like I'm one of the least well traveled here.
PS I've been to France, Germany, and Italy, too, not to mention a couple of tropical island vacation destinations, i.e., the US Virgin Islands and Curacao.
All but Hawaii. Been to Tahiti however so I think that makes up for missing that one.
Been around the world twice as a student long ago. Been to most western European countries, much of SE Asia, India, both coasts of Africa plus the middle east, Central and South America, Australia and New Zealand.

It's a casino parking lot now.....
Its still there, went to it for the first time last year. The problem is there is one marker that marks 'the corner', then there is another marker 20 yards away that marks 'the corner'. I dont' know which one is correct.
ColeYounger: I am right behind you with 25 of the 57 (er... I mean of the 50!) states visited. Hope to get to the other 25 before my bucket gets kicked. Hold into the wind VarmintGuy
All but Hawaii by motorcycle. Add Nova Scotia, P.E.I., New Brunswick, Quebec, Ontario, Manitoba, Saskatchewan, Alberta, Btitish Columbia, The Yukon and Mexico by motorcycle.
Been in around 35 of our beautiful states. Missing states mostly in the south and the interior/heartland. Lived in Japan several years, and spent lots of time in Scotland with family. Been to a baker's dozen other countries in Asia, Europe and Africa.
I love traveling (once I get to where I'm going, anyway).
Prior to joining the Army, all the States West of the Miss. excluding HI. & AK. Did go to IL. IN. KY. on the East side. That including the three Western Canadian Prov. My parents owned an Airstream Trailer and we traveled a lot.
After joining the Army, I got to go to all those East of the Miss. except NH. Got to go to HI. & AK. with the Army. With the Army, it included many foreign countries of Europe, Africa, Asia.
VA, WV, NC, SC, TN, MD, GA, FL, and through pure luck of being invited by a buddy to be a spare cameraman for Camo Church Adventures this past Nov on a mule deer hunt I can add NM. Don't think I can really count TX as I never left the airport terminal.
I think I'm only missing Hawaii, New York, Maine, Connecticut, Michigan, Wisconsin and North Dakota, and maybe Rhode Island...not real sure if I went through there or not.
Been in all of the "lower 48". My excursion into Maine was a bit of a streach as I drove across the border until I found a place to turn around; got out and steped on the ground so I can say I have been there. Got back in the truck and drove out of there. Nothing against Maine, just had no other reason to go there. Thought it a shame to get that close and not step on it.
Never saw the research, but I suspect that Vermont has a higher percentage of it's residents that move to Montana than almost any other state.
Fred, it's a Northern Tier thing... From New England, I'd agree likely VT is at the top of "lateral movers"... however, I'd agree with Loco... MI, WI and MN are tops IMO.
Brad and Rancho You guys are obviously correct after giving it two seconds thought- Most of Montana could be called Minnesota west without stretching it too much!

46. I haven't been to Hawaii, South Dakota, Delaware or New Jersey. The majority of those I visited while driving trucks over the road. Also drove through Quebec and Ontario, and flew in and out of Newfoundland.
Only six for me outside of my home state. I live in Alabama, and have been in Mississippi, Florida, Tennessee, Kentucky, Georgia, and North Carolina. Kentucky and North Carolina were very brief visits, only a few miles inside their borders.
26. California, Nevada, Arizona, Utah, Idaho, Montana, Wyoming, Colorado, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Kansas, Nebraska, South Dakota, Minnesota, I.O.W.A, Missouri, Arkansas, Wisconsin, Illinois, Michigan, Indiana, Ohio, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, Maryland.
In California I only went a quick trip to Joshua Tree NP. I have been 3 feet into Canada along the border in Minnesota. Went on a trip to Europe in the 80s, visited West Germany, Austria, Switzerland, and saw 90 percent of Liechtenstein without setting foot in it.
