All right! It took all my points, but I finally drew a cow tag for a heavily hunted area! Just kidding , but I did get my point and my cow tag. I'm pretty happy, got antlers on the wall from last year and probably another freezer full of wapiti for this year(that is if I can afford enough gas to get all the way there!). I hope everybody else drew their tags.

Gonna fly from NY,2500 miles each way is pretty costly to drive not to mention 4 extra days tacked onto the trip.....

Last year my Grandson paid his way round trip from South Korea. He returned after the season and two weeks later rotated back to the states. Kid is a hard core hunter. At least he got his Elk.

OK, got my 3rd season Unit 4 cow tag in the mail yesterday. Not the Snake River RFW tag I was hoping for but I got a preference point and Unit 4 has been very good to me.
I'll be buying a bull tag as well.

I collected a point and a unit 74 cow tag.
74 was my 3rd choice but I'm kinda glad it happened that way. DIY, undersubscribed unit, public land, late season, mostly wilderness area.
Unit 74 is one of the units with the lowest success rate but I've taken 9 elk out of there, so far.

Will travel up to Meeker with an either sex tag for the first hunt (private land only). Gas will have to be in the neighborhood of $10/gal before I abandon this hunt (or maybe not)!

My son-in-law and I both drew cow tags for Unit 52. This is his first year, he had no preference points....

Just checked and our party drew 1st season Rifle in 78. Should be a good time.

My buddy and I drew 1st Rifle Season Area 49. It's our second trip to 49, it's a good unit and I'm looking forward to a great hunt. 1st season rifle this year will be during a full moon so it should be challenging to say the least.

I got my RFW cow tag and will pick up a second. All of my friends so far have drawn what they wanted.

I'd hunt the elk too. In fact I have a good friend that is coming down from Alaska to hunt elk instead of hunting moose. The odds of getting an elk are way better according to him and it's all about the meat!

Odds are probably better on an elk generally. The meat from the moose beats the elk everyday all day.....

I received my cow tag for unit 061 today. It was held up waiting on me to purchase an habitat stamp.
I went year before last to same area and really liked it.
Now I have to get it in gear and find a canvas wall tent. I have been looking at the 14 X 16 Wilderness tent. It has nylon webbing sewn into the eave with D rings intstead of grommets. Also no charge for rear window and tent bag.
