I'm firmly of the Anti-Crimp Fraternity and think a shoulder datum is a nice place from which to establish headspace.
Increased capacity and brass life,are notions that I'm partial to as well.
Combine same in the 77/22 and one eeks a splendidly capable device,that much resembles fun........................
