Thought I would post this up here since the other thread is more about rifle choice in the hunting rifle section...

Started off in the morning watching this open area and calling with nothing going on. After about 2 hrs I heard a bull grunt 4 times at the far west end so we moved down a bit closer. I continued to call with no further response. Then at about 9:40am he walked out at 270 yrds. I hit him hard the first time and he went 20yrds and stopped. I put a second round into him and that was all. Then the work began. We had to quarter him and pack him out the 3/4+ of a mile out way down past the far end of the picture to the truck. That took us till about 8pm. I packed one hind quarter out on my back and then a front quarter over my shoulder. The other two we pulled out on a sled. The final trip back for the head. We were all bagged and still paying for it today...

He's not huge but I wasn't looking for a trophy, just meat for the freezer. Measured 43.5" across.

I was shooting a 25-06 with 115 gr partitions.

Both paddles are the same just bad angle and picture quality.
