But it does show how much better some of these modern slow burners can be in the cartridge. Can't help but wonder how they'd hold up in real life. That first load with V N570 grabs my eye.....77 gr for 3253 fps at 65,000 psi, That's a lot of velocity from the cartridge with a 160. Ditto for the RL33 load for 3238....Good to remember this is for a 26" barrel.

Interesting.

Anyone know how does QL arrive at its figures anyway?

Bob,

I got some Vv N-570 to try in my 26 Nos, hearing it was a good one for that round. I saw a QL print out that showed it as top performer in the .300 Win Mag with 200 gr. bullets.

It's a real coarse stick, just about won't work in a powder measure. I had to remove the RCBS Uniflow drop tube, stacking was so bad. I drop a charge without drop tube in my scale pan, adjust to weight, then funnel into the case.

It's a high energy powder and doesn't over fill the case, at least the Nos. Haven't dropped a load in either .300 Win Mag or 7RM.

RL-33 is a favorite among some LR .264 WM shooters with 140's.
