This auction closed a bit ago, so I thought it would be ok to post on it now. I did not buy it, buy tried to stay in for awhile, until it was over what I could afford.
I don't think there were many 99EGs made in 30-30, and I would think that most that were made were not checkered. This one had a very late 1939 serial number (so one of the very early checkered EGs), and 1940 was that last year the EG was made in a 30-30 ... so all in all, I would think a pretty rare variant. It has studs, but very nice condition.
