9 day gun deer season began November 19th windy with gusts in the 40 mph range. Every camp member except for the cook was on a stand. First time in camp history no deer were shot opening day. The deer were definitely hunkered down.
Some of the bucks shot throughout the season.
Results of a couple Wisconsin deer drives. The exuberant fellow who shot the large buck said: "whackem and stackem".
Sighted in my Marlin 336 30-30 with new to me, Hornady American Whitetail 150 gr InterLock.
Works great...110 yards from hilltop down to valley floor. Buck was sneaking ahead of a drive. Missed the spine got lungs and broke right leg humerus. Made a 60 yard dash angling towards me, but died before I could see to shoot again.
