Went in last night and shot a cow just before dark. Waited as long as I could but the closest ones were 370yds. Drug her down the steep part just to dress her out by headlamp. I took her down to the bottom of a draw and propped her open and threw a shirt over the hams and lions.
The weather put down three inches of snow by morning, but I liked that. I'd take my plastic sleds in and drag her out about a mile.
Waiting for my help that morning the wind picked up. Still snowing. By the time we got to the elk we had about 8" of snow,15mph breeze. About -5 with the windchill.
Suppose to go back in tomorrow and get one more with the boy. Drifts are growing. On the way out I past one that was up to my window on the old Ford. It's going to be deep in the morning. and colder.


If you hunt with your kids. You should not have to hunt for your kids.
