This is a Provincial legal ruling, not a federal matter. The case and what you have reported has caused a great deal of apprehension in some sectors of the Manitoba public for quite some time.

The Supreme Court of Canada ruled in 1999 that a review board must order an absolute discharge if a person doesn’t pose a significant threat to public safety.
How can any schizophrenic who's committed a heinous murder like that not pose a threat to the public? He could snap again at any time.
