If the rifle is in otherwise good condition and has all the other OEM parts and configuration my recommendation would be to look for the original sights. A Remington collector would
be interested in that rifle if is has not been altered.
You need the Point-Crometer rear peep set and the Remington ramp front sight for the P-C.
The front sight is attached with 2 screws. Numrich carried these sights and the screws. You might check with them. These are undoubtedly the ugliest ramp front sights, but they were successful and Remington even used them on their Mdl 513 target rifles.
The P-C peep sets are not rare and you come across them occasionally on EBray and some WTS forums. You might try the Remington Forum on Rimfirecentral.com and ask if anyone has the sights (AND screws!)avail for sale. My recommendation also is to Google Point-Crometer and become familiar with what the set looks like in case you come across one at a gun show or elsewhere.
