Some Places will accept returns of unmounted scopes without charging any restocking fee. I believe EuroOptic does. It might cost you $25 to ship it back insured but that might be cheaper and easier than long road trips trying to locate the scopes you want to see.
I have thought about this myself, order in all the ones I am interested in, pick one, and return the rest. The only thing that stops me, is one time I returned a scope (non mounted) and the place did not refund me but gave me a "store credit". That would have been fine, except that place did not carry the scope I decided to go with.
