Unless people actually put rifles on scales they are often way off with weight estimates. Everything else being equal (barrel length, cartridge, etc.,) a Remington will weigh about 1/4 lb less than a Winchester. But if the Remington comes with the laminated stock in the photo it will be heavier than the Winchester in the walnut stock.

I've weighed New Haven and current Winchesters, the current rifles have aluminum triggerguards vs steel on the older guns. The new Winchesters are about 2 oz lighter than the New Haven models in same cartridges and barrel lengths.

I'd choose the Winchester by a wide margin.
