When in was in grade school, we recited the Pledge every morning outside as the flag was raised. If the weather was too bad, we did the same in the classroom (every classroom had a flag). Also said the Lord's Prayer being a parochial school. I don't know if any schools anywhere do that anymore.

They did where my kids went to school... Prayed at the beginning of all school functions. And it wasn't a parochial school, just a private school.
