Has anyone heard an update on the Unit 26 A and B proposed closure to non-locals for caribou hunting? It was being considered at one of the board meetings but I've not seen any updates on the ADF&G site, the Alaska Outdoor forum or the Alaska Outdoor Digest. It was proposed to shut down caribou hunting to all but local subsistence users, effectively shutting down the haul road hunt and 26A to all non-locals. ADF&G hasn't got the regs out yet and I haven't found anything in the news releases or emergency orders.

I'm planning on doing the five mile special forces hunt this year and am trying to plan my time off for the hunt.

Chronographs, bore scopes and pattern boards have broke a lot of hearts.
