Another wonderful influence that promoted gunny stuff was an exhibition shooter named Herb Parsons. He lived at about the same time as Wally Tabor and Jim Bond.

Parsons traveled the country giving incredible shooting demonstrations at local gun clubs and fairs. I watched him many times and always went away amazed at what the man could do with a firearm.

Interestingly, I was on a Nosler caribou hunt on the Ungava Peninsula several years ago. One of my fellow hunters was a great gentleman of about 80 years of age. After talking to him several times, the subject of Herb Parsons came up ... turned out that the man had been Parsons' teen-aged "gofer" for a couple of years. And he went on to become one of the most successful manufacturing people in the sporting world.

Funny how chance meeting like that happen.
