Mounts are not hard to come by for the T/C.
Weaver and others make base sets .

The serial number range may be the best clue as to when it was made and if it might be a gun prone to exractor or other issues.

Some of the hard core T/C freaks on Rimfire Central might be able to give you a better idea.

I bought one of the T/C classics in January of 2000 along with a CZ -511 both brand new.. They ran well and shot about the same - a bit under .75" at 50 yards.

I sold them, both because they really did't shoot any better than the very nice 1962 Browning 22 Takedown I already had.. Still have the Browning and its still very accurate:)

Truth be known, given how well your custom GM barreled 10/22 shoots, I doubt any factory semi auto(and most bolt guns) will offer you any more than it provides you already.[email][/email]
