Get the .45
It's slightly larger than the 9mm or the S&W .40, and with 3" barrels I try to maximize bullet size, or in other words, I've had a few compacts over the years and if they were available in .45 that's what I shot in them. Soon, I'm probably going to get a .45 Shield from the S&W custom shop. It will come the trigger already tuned and night sights.
