On a wolf? Never done one but I'd think you'd about have it skinned by the time you could strip it , but maybe not.

Also the risk is a little higher at losing the tip if done with a stripper vs. skinning, for fur who cares, for a mount I'd want it intact.. but again can't say on a wolf.
