I use a red shop towel that has been washed several times (much more absorbent). Washing not a problem as I recycle shop towels by washing them if not totally messed up and have some that have been washed and rewashed for years. I buy them at HF when on sale ($10/50) but I have noticed in the last couple of years that they have some kind of coating that repels water and don't absorb very well until washed at least once.
