I doubt it's the chrono.

I've largely stopped using H4831SC of late because lots in the last 6 years or so seem to be of a very slow burn rate. In 270Win, 25-06 and 30-06 I could never approach book speeds with books loads, even though I have 24" barrels.

Ended up going for H4350 or R17 in most applications where I'd normally use 4831SC and speeds ended up where they should have been IMO.

Taking delivery of a 243AI shortly so I might try H4831SC again, given I'll only be using 105+ grain bullets.
